Adoption: The Political Aspects
Independent adoptions in the United States focus almost exclusively on the best interests of the adoptive parents who hire attorneys who vigorously protect their clients' pocket books. Almost none of the adoption professionals fight for the long term health and welfare of the developing baby. Matter of fact, most don't even believe that the baby is affected by anything that occurs in utero. In this session we will explore current adoption practices and policies. Case studies will be presented and a proposal to make the baby the most important person in the triad (adoptees, adoptive parents & birthmothers) will be highlighted.
