Edna Rivera


Brief Bio: Edna Rivera has a BA Degree in Psychology and MA Degree in Education, as well as author of the book, "Pregnancy: the best time to submerge your baby in prayer". A forty-week devotional, that provides weekly prayers to nurture the body, soul and spirit of the unborn baby and helps parents connect with their unborn baby.  Edna is also the founder of Formation New Generation Inc. - a wholeness service model for pregnant families; that combines research and Scripture within the cultural tradition of the organized church.  Expectant parents come on a weekly basis to connect with their unborn baby, using the principles established in her book.

In the professional field, for the last thirty years, she has had a successful career as an Independent Early Childhood Consultant. In Puerto Rico, she has worked with multiple programs such as: Head Start/Early Head Start, Child Care, and the Puerto Rican Association of Early Childhood. She worked for the Training and Technical Assistance Center for Head Start Programs in Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Her services outside Puerto Rico include contracts with the following prominent international organizations: Head Start Office in Washington, DC; Zero to Three National Resource Center and The Program for Infant and Toddlers Caregivers, and WestEd, Center for Child and Family Studies in California. Also, she has had the distinction at a national conference in Puerto Rico, of being a keynote speaker and has offered workshops at national conferences in and outside Puerto Rico.

Brief Description of Presentation: Innovative holistic service model for expectant families based on prenatal psychology research and aligned with the tradition of the Christian church is presented. Free weekly sessions offered by trained volunteers connect parents with body/mind/spirit baby.
