Kelduyn Garland

Brief Bio: Kelduyn R Garland, PhD, is a body-mind psychotherapist, consultant and educator, specializing in reproductive, pre & perinatal bonding-attachment issues, dynamics, and trauma, as well as geriatric mental health during the past five decades. Her work is in supporting people in BIRTHING IN, BIRTHING WITHIN, and BIRTHING OUT of their life. Kelduyn is one of the 'GrandMothers' of Pre & Perinatal Psychology and APPPAH , as well as ATTACh [Association for Treatment & Training in the Attachment of Children], having worked in the field since the early 1970’s and joined APPPAH shortly after its inception in the early 1980’s. She has been very active in the organization throughout these years, presenting on her work and findings at most of the Congresses, as well as serving on the Editorial Board of the Journal [[Journal of Pre & Perinatal Psychology], since 1987, and on its Board&Ethics Committee. She also created and developed the Continuing Education Program for APPPAH in 1997, and returned to further develop and expand the program. She is on faculty as a mentor for the Pre & Perinatal Education Certification program.

Brief Description of Presentation: In this seminar we will explore the field of Pre & Perinatal Psychology and Health covering the almost 400 years - from the 17th century to today - of its evolution and development, as well as the impact of the changes that have occurred during this evolution on the BondingAttachment dynamics in relationships and resulting health and wellness of people, families, societies, and global interactions.
