Biography Captain (CPT) Sara Skiles is an U.S. Army Medical Service Corps 73A/Clinical Social Worker. She graduated from Baylor University in 2009 with a BA in History and Slavic and East European Studies. Soon after graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Army. After commissioning, CPT Skiles was accepted into the U.S. Army-Fayetteville State University MSW Program and completed the graduate program in 2015. She is currently completing clinical licensure requirements of the state of North Carolina in the U.S. Army Social Work Internship Program at Fort Carson, Colorado. She is within four months of earning her LCSW. While completing a rotation with a child and family behavioral health clinic, she observed consistent referrals from the women's health clinic for pregnant and recently postpartum patients. She developed a perinatal support group, the first of its kind on Fort Carson. The group is advertised on Postpartum Support International's website. CPT Skiles began the process to earn a specialization in perinatal mental health. CPT Skiles completed the Seleni Institute's Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder training in March 2017.
