APPPAH Live! Exploring Birth Psychology – Baby-bonding for Non-Gestational Parents with Rebecca Francesca Cariati, L.Ac., TCMP, MA
May 23 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Baby-bonding for Non-Gestational Parents: evidence-base and supportive techniques for LGBTQIA2+, adoptive, and foster parents
In 2019, Rebecca birthed her first child. The lack of Queer and Trans-affirming care for pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting was glaring. After a gazillion “Who’s the mother?”’ questions and generally feeling invisibilized in the holistic medicine community, she founded Spectrum Chinese Medicine (https://www.spectrumchinesemedicine.com). Here, East Asian and evidence-based medicine meet in service to joyful and gender-affirming care for Queer and trans folks trying to conceive, those who are pregnant and postpartum, their babies, and LGBTQIA-2+ youth.
Rebecca Francesca Cariati, L.Ac., TCMP, MA
Rebecca is a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in NY, PA, and VT as well as an herbalist trained in both Chinese and Western clinical herbalism. She practices within the lenses of HAES, sex-positivity, health equity for BIPOC, and gender-affirming and trauma-informed care. Rebecca works with Queer and Trans families from conception through early life and herself is the parent of a spicy toddler and wife to Kelzi, an early childhood educator, artist, and goat cheesemaker.
