APPPAH Live: Black Heartbeat Series 2022: What Supporting Black Birthworkers Looks Like with Ashlee Johnson

August 1, 2022 @ 12:00 PM

What Supporting Black Birthworkers Looks Like
With a great need for representation and equity in birth work there needs to be a conversation around how to support Black birth workers effectively. Effective support goes beyond good intentions. I will share tangible ways and examples Black birth workers can be supported.

Ashlee Johnson
Ashlee Jaye Johnson is the creator of the Birth Class in a Box, author, birth and breastfeeding educator and mom of 3. She has a background in nonprofit programming, community outreach, and racial justice advocacy. Ashlee is passionate about helping Black birth workers build and sustain businesses that allow them to thrive personally and are impactful in the Black community. Ashlee came to this work after a breathtaking out of hospital birth experience that defied the common birth outcomes of Black women in this country. www.BirthClassinaBox.com

Hosted by Shatia Owsley, MS, PPNE, CEIM, CYT
