Karen Mulder, Ph.D. retired from teaching the history of architecture, art, interior design and artists’ books and immediately began supporting the creation of the Center for Earth Based Healing, an eco-therapy initiative that helps survivors of abuse experience nature, and the Voices from the Land grant program for area Boys and Girls clubs. She is an end-of-life volunteer with Hospice of the Piedmont and serves on various committees for the Charlottesville chapter of the Master Naturalists in Virginia’s Blue Ridge region. She still edits, writes and speaks about the importance of the arts for the soul, and promotes artists through writing projects. She has benefited greatly from the proximity of Kate White’s workshops, including the Womb Surround and Leading Edge programs. Karen will be taking on Rebecca Thompson Hitt's numerous responsibilities as Communications Specialist (on a steep learning curve!).
