Cesarean delivery rates have been steadily rising and have reached startling rates worldwide. There is a consensus among pre- and perinatal psychology clinicians that prenatal and perinatal factors create a predisposition that may be exacerbated and adversely affect one’s personality. Although a cesarean delivery is a lifesaving procedure, little attention and respect have been given to the cesarean born baby’s emotional well-being.
