Deb has spent her adult life dedicated to personal growth,
women’s empowerment, and cultural change.
She helped to write the legislation that licensed midwives in Alaska. 77-83

She now lives in California and is Public Relations and region 2 co-rep for, CAM, California Association of Midwives.
Deb retired from midwifery in 1995. However, the death of her teacher Jeannine Parvati Baker, and the births of her 6 grandchildren, brought her out of retirement.
Deb is currently working on graduate work in Midwifery at The Midwives College of Utah. She intends to sit for her NARM in February of 2013.
She is a member of AME, Association of Midwifery Educators.
Deb currently sits on the Board of Directors for The Midwifery Institute of California, MIC. This developing institute, seeks to address all the academic disciplines, from a midwifery perspective. Our goal is full academic accreditation.
She is certified both through DONA and ICEA ,International Childbirth Education Association.
A member of NOW, National Organization of Women. www.now.org And the Ass of Business and Professional Women.
She is a member of ,the Association for Pre & Perinatal Psychology and Health APPPAH. And currently serves as their Public Relations and Communications Co-Director.
Deb has a degree in Interior design, she has worked in the male dominated corporate industry of Home Furnishings [with the good old boys]. And understands the concept of this Machiavellian, short sighted, consumer driven economic …
She now channels her creative talents in to a consulting practice, Birth Center By Design, supports existing and new birth centers internationally.
Her unique perspective has enabled her to assist many high profile corporate executive women in finding their own POWER and self expression in BIRTH.
