AdultsintheU.S.,fromauniversityorAmazonMechanicalTurk(MTurk),readavignetteaboutawomanexperiencingamiscarriageandansweredquestionsaboutreactionstothevignette,predictionsaboutthesubject’sfuture,demographics,knowledgeofmiscarriage,beliefinajustworld,locusofcontrol,andlikingofchildren.Participantsanticipatedthewoman’sexperienceandfuturedifferentlydependingontheirgender,herstatedage,andwhethershewastryingtobecomepregnant.Morecorrectknowledgeregardingmiscarriagealsowaspredictedbyfemalegender,lessbeliefinajustworld,moreinternallocusofcontrol,andgreaterlikingofchildren.
