Getting to the Root of Trauma
Join Emily McCrea and Christianna Deichmann for an exploration of the Inner Child Journey, how it illuminates and identifies core wounds from our earliest experiences and can be utilized in the therapeutic setting. The talk sets the stage for an online course coming to APPPAH in June, “Journey through Parenting: How the past affects the present.” The course is designed to help parents, teachers and childcare providers manage stress and explore ways to cultivate more emotional connection with themselves and with the children in their care. They will review how to interpret a child’s behavior as a means of communicating emotional needs that are established preconception using key developmental phases up until the age of 25. They will share a couple of case studies to illustrate how a practitioner can identify and work with the core emotional wounding so a client can access true healing while demonstrating types of attunement and embodiment skills that are a must for practitioners and easy to teach parents. Tips will be explored on how to normalize a parent’s shame and inner critic to provide relief while dealing with challenging and defiant behaviors from a child.
Emily McCrea, a conscious parent-teacher coach and certified TEACH THROUGH LOVE
