Our Biology Becomes Our Biography: How Our Earliest Experiences Shape Lifelong Health
What if the story of our lives begins before we take our first breath?
Birth Psychology Month 2026 invites birth professionals into a deeper listening—to the science, to the stories, and to the earliest chapters of human life. Across preconception, pregnancy, birth, and early bonding, experiences do not simply fade into memory. They are encoded in the nervous system, shaping stress response, attachment, relational capacity, immune function, and lifelong health outcomes.
Our biology becomes our biography.
This month is an extraordinary opportunity to study these truths with colleagues around the world who are bringing birth psychology into homes, clinics, and communities. Each session will be available for 48 hours at no cost, so you can learn at your own pace and begin integrating this knowledge immediately into your care of mothers, babies, and families. If this work speaks to you, our recording package allows you to return to each teaching in your own time.

Because what neuroscience, epigenetics, developmental psychology, and trauma research continue to affirm is what many birth professionals have long sensed: the perinatal period is not a brief event. It is a foundational imprint.
And for those of us who stand at the threshold of life, this knowledge asks something of us.
✨ Reserve your place and join us beginning March 1.
Let this month deepen your practice, your perception, and the care you offer every family you meet.

Throughout Birth Psychology Month, we will highlight perinatal professionals across the globe who are making meaningful impact in their communities—midwives, doulas, therapists, physicians, educators, bodyworkers, and advocates who understand that birth is not simply an event, but a foundational narrative.
We will also share:
- Stories of care that changed the trajectory of a family
- Stories of repair and resilience after difficult beginnings
- Stories of innovation bringing birth psychology into modern practice
- Stories of community leadership transforming systems from the inside out
Because when we tell the story of birth, we remember the power of this transition.
We remember that every pregnancy carries possibility.
Every birth leaves an imprint.
Every interaction matters.

Birth Psychology Month is an invitation to listen more closely—to the science, yes—but also to the lived experiences that shape our field. It is a celebration of the professionals who are helping rewrite birth stories toward greater safety, connection, and lifelong health.
The story of birth is the story of humanity itself.
And this month, we honor the people helping shape that story—one family at a time.
