Jessica Cooper Ahlum is a perinatal health coach and educator with over 15 years of experience working with young families. Through her study and practice of human development and family systems theories she has identified a need to support people across the transition into parenthood, ensuring the social and emotional needs of each family member are met. Her special interests include self actualization through parenting, intimate relationships, bonding and attachment, and the development of emotional intelligence as a community and global health goal. Jessica has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in human development and family studies specializing in child and adolescent development and a Master’s of Arts degree in clinical psychology specializing in prenatal and perinatal psychology. She is a licensed massage and bodywork therapist with a certification in prenatal and infant massage, a certified birth doula through DONA International, an integrative health coach trained by Duke Integrative Medicine, and a couple’s relationship coach trained in the Gottman Method. She has completed leadership development through the National Outdoor Leadership School and prides herself on being a leader in the healthcare paradigm shift of wellness and prevention over disease management.
